Latin Rhythms is the best place in Chicago especially for learning techniques because instructors really pay attention to individuals' progress, not just show moves and let them practice among themselves.

A good friend of mine recommended me to go to LRDS because best dancers in town are from there. Since I liked her style, I followed her advice. I have taken nine classes here, and each class has helped me to move forward. In particular, LRDS classes are designed to help you progress step by step. I had a problem with double-spinning and felt that I would never be able to make it. When I repeated Intermediate II twice, at one moment, I was able to make it.

What I like most about LRDS is that instructors observe individual's progress and their weakness, and give helpful advice, which I have not had from other dance studios. If anyone wants to be a good dancer with techniques rather than flash moves, I strongly recommend LRDS.

Initially, I took lessons at another company, but immediately decided to look for another shop that would 'take better care of me'. I did some web surfing and viola, I found LRDS! My experience has been quite positive and I continue to learn new information about dance and music. I've learned to listen to my lead, stay on beat, and listen to the beat. Prior, to LRDS this had not been taught to me. In this respect, I have improved my dance technique.

I always considered myself a pretty good dancer, but when I was invited to a Latin Rhythms Mixer, I was so impressed with the students and instructors. I was hesitant to join because none of my girl friends wanted to join with me, but I'm glad I did. I did not need a partner, for the first time ever there seemed to be more Male students. Not only did I learn to dance, but I made new friends!

I stopped at Intermediate 3, because I was getting married and am now expecting a baby, but I hope to be able to join with my husband in the winter. I recommend Latin Rhythms to any one who wants to learn new moves, improve what they know or meet new friends!
